Woodpecker Acoustics

Woodpecker Acoustics use only the most reputable equipment; that is we only use the equipment that has a good reputation with both performers and technicians. We would normally expect the engineer to attend pre gig rehearsals to "get the flavour" of the band. If the event is theatrical, then attendance at several rehearsals including the Technical rehearsal and the Full Dress would be expected.

We use the mixer most appropriate to the job.

The primary mixing solution is a Digico SD11 (View picture) in summary (direct quote from the manufacturer):
"The SD11 boasts 48 input channels at 48kHz or 96kHz. Standard channel processing, whether inputs or outputs, includes Channel Delay, Single and Multi Channel Presets, Dual insert points, Hi- and Lo-pass filters @ 24dB/octave, four-band parametric EQ with band curve selection, Dual insert points, DiGiCo's DYN 1 (Compressor, De-esser or Multi Channel Compressor) and DYN 2 (Gate, Compressor or Ducker). The console also benefits from 83 Dynamic EQ processors, all of which can be assigned to any of the input or output channels. These powerful processors offer dynamic processing on each of the four standard parametric bands, plus there are 83 Multiband Compressors; and no matter how the console is set up, the user won't lose any resources, as all channels are equipped to provide the same high quality signal path and feature set. The master section incorporates 12 gangable 32-band graphic EQs, 6 stereo effects (selectable from a palette of 33), and eight control groups (VCAs); and using snapshots, engineers can now switch between complete configurations in any live environment easier than ever before, be it at rehearsals, during system setup, or even at a show. In addition, we've included 24 busses, all of which are assignable as mono/stereo groups or auxiliary busses; and in addition to these busses, for further configurability, we've provided an 8 x 8 output matrix, dual solo busses, and a Master buss.
Unlike all other digital console manufacturers, you don't lose Aux or Group Busses when using the Matrix as they are in addition, including the Master buss."

Because of the sophisticated facilties offered by this equipment we are able to store the detailed settings required by your band and replicate them accurately for every gig

If the requirement is for a smaller, cheaper, solution then we also have a Behringer XENYX QX2222 available

We have a wide range of microphones including those by:

Amplification and Speakers

Selecting the appropriate system for the type of event, venue  and audience size is very important. The best solution can range from a simple solution using just two high quality speaker (usually on stands) to a substantial flown array and everything in between
Our core system is a d&b audiotechnik system, using the D20 amplifier and Y series speakers
However systems from Bose, JBL, E-V and Meyer are also used in the situations to which they are best suited

We have recently acquired a Sennheiser In Ear Monitoring (IEM) system for use on stage and in the recording studio. This means that artists can select the best solution for their event or recording session from a much wider range of options than before
